Craig Smith (born in South Africa, raised in New Zealand) created Language Perfect while at high school to help him study for his French and Japanese exams. His older brother, Shane Smith, developed the platform software to support Craig's prototype and together they have built an international company with an award winning learning platform. Languages:
Normally about $40/month/student, access to the languages (all of them not just the one you most want) is only $30 a year for home educators. The Languages unit is tailored to the NZ school curriculum Years 3 to 13. If you subscribe in terms three or four it's only $20 for languages.
All Subjects:
Access to English (Years 7 to 13), Maths (Years 5 to 13) and Science (Years 6 to 13) is $30 per subject OR get all subjects (including languages) for $120 for the year for home educators. If you subscribe in terms three or four it's only $62.50 for all subjects. A subscription to all subjects means you will get the other aspects of the program for free. This includes History, Geography, Accounting, and Economics (these units are not as comprehensive as the main units).
Students who join in terms one or two pay $30/student for languages or $120/student for all aspects of the program. Students who join in terms three or four pay $20/student for languages or $62.50/student for all aspects of the program. The subscription is for one calendar year, so you can join anytime and the expiry date will be 31st December 2021 (however renewal is not until the end of January). Subscriptions may not be set up during the school holidays as our volunteers may be on leave. Subscriptions will not be set up from 15th December until the end of January while our volunteers have a break.
Teacher account:
It is possible for you to have a teacher account (with your child/ren in your own little 'class') so that you can set work and monitor progress. This is more time-consuming at our end to set up, so please only elect to have a teacher account if you will actually use it. There is an additional cost of /class for teacher accounts. Your children will be able to be in the same 'class' unless they have different subscriptions (eg. one subscribed just to languages and one subscribed to all subjects - these children would not be in the same 'class'). Trials will not be set up with a teacher account. The teacher account is solely for the purpose to assigning tasks to your student. If you make any other changes then this may impact on other users. Therefore there are rules you are required to follow if you have a teacher account: You must not pin content, hide content, add more classes, remove classes, or remove me as your 'co-teacher'.
